Overview
Townhouse roofing is a different beast — your work zone is shared with neighbors on both sides, and any debris, footfall, or staging mistake becomes someone else's problem. We replaced this Maryland townhouse roof in a single working day, with our crew managing tarps, drop zones, and shingle delivery so that adjacent units were never disrupted.
Challenge solution
The shared-wall layout meant tear-off debris had to be controlled to the inch. We staged ground tarps across both neighboring properties (with permission), used magnetic sweepers three times — before, midway, and after the job — and protected landscaping with plywood walkways. The new system uses architectural shingles, ice-and-water shield at the eaves and party wall, and properly sealed step flashing along the shared walls.
